WomenRunningTogether is also about women running with their men. Here are some blokes we snapped at the World Masters Games.
South Africa’s Lucas Nel, 86, was a crowd favorite and one of the sensations of the games. Lucus won gold in M85 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1500m. In the 400m, he set a pending World Record of 1:20.47, besting the previous mark of 1:24.18.

Team USA's 200m medalists, L to R: Charles Allie, M60 (gold), Larry Barnum, M65 (silver), Bill Collins, M55 (gold), Michael Kountze, M45 (bronze) and Michael Waller M50 (gold).

WRT's Aussie mate Kevin Solomon enjoyed a marvelous year of racing. In April, Kevin won Australian Masters titles in the M60 800, 1500m and 5k. At Lahti, in the WMA champs, he got silver in the 1500 and bronze in the 800m. In Sydney, Kevin collected bronze in the 800 and 1500m.

The medal ceremony for the M75 400m, L to R: Richard Hughes, silver (Aus), Harbhajan Singh Aulakh, gold (Aus) and Bill Kaspari, bronze (USA). Bill ran his heart out and was thrilled to receive his first World Medal.

Charles Allie (L) and Peter Crombie (R) first and second in the M60 200m. It was triple gold for Charles with his wins in the 100 and 400m. Peter also took bronze in the 100m. It was a remarkable comeback for Peter who had knee surgery early in 2009 and spent 14 weeks on crutches.

USA’s 2009 National Masters M60 1500m champ Tim Wigger was in the mix at the WMG finishing 4th in both the 800 and 1500m.

USA’s Salih Talib (L) and Larry Barnum (R), silver medalist in the 200 and 400m. Salih raced in the finals of the 400, 800 and 1500m and cut loose with his unique style on the final day of competition.
