 An Awesome Foursome
Not content with cleaning up the medals in the individual events, (L to R) Rita Hanscom, Brenda Matthews, Karla del Grande & Jeanne Bowman got together to win the W50-59 4x100m (non club) relay.

I wasn't sure if I should start running in place to get my speed ready for the acceleration zone. Then Karla told me she felt the same way about Rita!"

Soaring High
Kay Glynn at 56 is a mother, grandmother and world-class pole-vaulter. Often when she's on grandmother duty Kay takes the kids to the track. They cheer her on at training yelling, "Fly Granny Fly".
 Setting An Example
Angie Miyashiro (W55) is a distance runner and head track and cross country coach in her home Hawaii. She walks the talk with her students and likes to give them a challenge. Telling them, "If you can keep up with me for a mile, I'll give you a day off".
 Helping Hands
Sprinter Jacqueline Board was on the sidelines at Oshkosh due to injury. But not one to mope around Jacqueline kept busy massaging her fellow competitors. "The woman has hands of gold,” said grateful W40 sprinter Maryline Roux. Jacqueline also has a heart of gold not charging for her healing touch.

Dynamic Duo
Friends Tracey Berryman and Renee Henderson (L to R) are girls who like speed. Tracy won W40 Long Jump and medaled in the 100m and Triple Jump. Renee won gold in the 100, 200 and 400m. As Renee tells it "I'm only doing the 400 for my 200. I told my coach I’m done with the 400 after Nationals."
 Forever Young
Thelma Wilson (W79) is a big believer in the health benefits of running saying, "It slows down the aging process". Watching Thelma win the 800 and 1500m would inspire anyone to put on some running shoes and head out the door.
 Who says 5K's aren't fun?
Master blogger and photographer Ken Stone captured yours truly (Carmel Papworth-Barnum) moments after the 5k. Can't remember what he said but it obviously made me laugh.
