Fabulous interview with an amazing athlete
by Ken Stone
(La Mesa, Calif.)
What really impresses me about Marie-Louise is her courage in tackling events outside her comfort zone, such as the sprints she entered at Spokane masters nationals last summer.
I wouldn't THINK of entering a distance event at nationals (since my events are sprints and hurdles). But Marie tackles strange events just to see what happens.
She lost this race, but re-won my heart.
Also worth noting: She has a crackerjack coach in Ed Gonera, a world-class sprinter in his own right.
Keep on doing your thing, M-L! You inspire us all.

Inspiring!

I agree with Ken that Marie-Louise is so inspiring by challenging herself in so many ways! What a range of distances and events she does! I love to talk track with her, to share our experiences as masters women, in training and in competition. A great interview, with interesting questions and answers. I think it captures the essence of Marie-Louise very well.

Marie-Louise

What a great piece on ML!! She is as tough a competitor as I have ever known. What I love about her is that while she does not deny the affects of aging on a runner, you rarely if ever hear her refer to it. Some runners are constantly moaning about getting old, being old, etc. Marie-Louise, on the other hand, is always talking about her training, her goals, her latest races. She is a forward thinking woman, single mindedly dedicated to her sport. Her passion for running and her deep knowledge of it and dedication to it make her a role model to us all.

My new heroine
by Joanie
I loved the interview with ML Michelsohn. She is my new heroine. I was so inspired that I'm now starting back running after injuries, Meniere's disease and other various set backs. I'm going to be 60 this year and want to run track. I almost cried when I read that she does not like to run distance in the heat due to not sweating. I too do not sweat and was told it was all in my head, not drinking enough water etc. So to read her comments validated my own condition.
Thank you for this interview it was motivating and has made me want to run again when I thought I would never attempt it again.

These kind of stories, are of great service to us who are over 40 and still kicking, or running. Keep them up. And congratulations to Mrs. Michelsohn for her accomplishments.
